Should India forget Sachin
India seems to be getting over Sachin. The little maestro is undergoing shoulder surgery in London, but a poll carried out on One website reveals an astonishing fact. Of the thousands who participated, a majority 57 per cent feel India can produce another like Sachin while 41 per cent think he cannot be replaced.
Notwitsnding the majority view, statistically Sachin seems simply irreplaceable. He has scored a mammoth 10,469 runs in Tests and another 14,146 in ODIs. The 24,000 runs are staggering by any stretch of imagination. Compare him with Lara, who has scored 11,211 runs in Tests and 9359 ODI runs, Sachin is streets ahead of the Prince of West Indies.
Greatness though cannot be judged by runs alone. It is a word which is used very loosely in modern cricket. A big ODI knock or a one-off hit in Test is enough to be listed among the 'greats'. Sachin's detractors feel he doesn't win matches for India when the pressure is on. Sachin, the 'Desert Storm' was a long long time ago. In the past five years, he has not won many matches for Team India.
Do you think we should forget Sachin and look for an able replacement?

Why should we Indians forget sachin ?. Every one in cricket will pass through some tough time and so sachin tooo. Still Sachin has lot of talent that he can give to Indian Cricket. I think sachin can still bat for 5 more years........

Sachin is Sachin, no one can replace him. Now most of the bowlers know his style of batting. They come up with new ideas whenever they bowl to Sachin, I think Sachin should understand this and play according to his style only. Take little time, cool and understand and bat. No doubt he is very talent and he can do more further for our Indian Team.

The only person who can replace Sachin is Sir Vivan Richards... Sachin is my role model ...Sachin should be given a second chance as he is trying to make a comeback after injury layoff which is very difficult .. I think is matured enough to know when is the time to hang up his boots

i think we should not forget sachin because he is one of the important person who brought fame to India by his masterblastings. I believe that after his shoulder surgery he will perform well.

sachin is sachin ........ no one can take the spcae of sachin in indian team, coz the name itself makes a huge impact on the opposition. Every one in world says that he is the greatest batsman so how we can deny that thing......now sachin cann't be replaced... he is the one who made us crazy abt the cricket. for me and like other indians sachin is the god of cricket.

ofcourse sachin is a great cricketer but the same is with Ganguli also when he was not doing well nobody was interested to give chance so why this partiality let Sachin also sit outside for a while.
