Mr./Ms. Jain
I feel extremely pathetic for u for not being able to understand ur own motherland...(if at all it is)..
Anyways, I am here to answer a few of ur questions and help u get rid of some more misconceptions. Yes, Indian people hold on to a respectable job in India. n in the US?? Well, u r "hired n fired", which is ur pretext for having more "choices" or sources on motivation. U do not lose a job willingly u r forced to leave a job because u r not considered any more fit for that job. This is a fact sir...which u r trying to let go by calling it the ability to "explore" more options.
What do u call improvement? Extreme abuse of elders?
" Findings from the often cited National Elder Abuse Incidence Study suggest that more than 500,000 Americans aged 60 and over were victims of domestic abuse in 1996. This study also found that only 16 percent of the abuse situations are referred for help: 84 percent remain hidden."

Desperately increasing abortion rates?
" * Approximately 1,370,000 abortions occur annually in the U.S. according to the Alan Guttmacher Institute. Click here to see the approximate number of abortions in the U.S. per year from 1973-1996. In 2001, 1.31 million abortions took place.
* 88% of abortions occur during the first 6 to 12 weeks of pregnancy.
* 60% of abortions are performed on women who already have one or more children.
* 47% of abortions are performed on women who have already had one or more abortions.
* 43% of women will have had at least one abortion by the time they are 45 years old (this statistic includes miscarriages in the term "abortion"). "

Or is it the increased use of drugs and alcohol?
Ha! I think I should be congratulating you for the kind of improvement u r having!
"Every family in India is fighting over inheritance. Siblings don't get along."
MR.American , these lines do not suite ur tongue u know! Do u know that in the US parents turn the children down when they are about 16 yrs of age n children turn their parents down when they are 60 years of age ...n they are left to die in old age homes? If u see that this is perfectly alright, I would say that u've become cold-blooded like the Americans n there is no reason explaining things to you...
You talk abt divorce in India. You might need to look at the following statistics :
(These are the stats of year 2002)
Percentage of population that is married: 59% (down from 62% in 1990, 72% in 1970)
Percentage of population that has never married: 24%
Percentage of population that is divorced: 10% (up from 8% in 1990, 6% in 1980)
People who are divorced (2000): Males: 8,572,000 (8.3%)
Females: 11,309,000 (10.2%)
People who are separated (2000): Males: 1,818,000 (1.8%)
Females: 2,661,000 (2.4%)
Percentage of people that married under the age of 20 who eventually get divorced as of 1995: 40%

Surprised Sir? Ought not to be. US people do not know the meaning of love, of togetherness. Which is certainly being reflected in your thought too.
"How many Girls are sold to foreigners for money. Till date in remote areas how many baby girls are killed because people want a baby boy. "
Which century are u living in Sir? This is the 21st century and India is not what u think what it used to be. On the other hand, come 21st century and the abortion rate (which means killing of a baby before it is even born, because u do not NEED it) is ever increasing. You might want to say that the foetus is not a human being, but let me tell u that the foetus begins to feel when it is 2 months old.
Age group (yrs)
<=19 18.1%
20–24 33.4%
>=25 48.5%
Marital status
Married 18.4%
Unmarried 81.6%
That is the abortion rate measured in 2 categories : the age group and on the basis of marital status. Sure Americans love each other n their kids a lot.
I've already talked abt that before n will not do that again... Shame on u for advocation abortion and craving about female foeticide in India which for ur very kind information has been decreasing tremendously with the passage of time n coz the Indian people are getting aware of it, not like the US people, who are being rather stupid in performing abortion acts.
Can you give me one justification of why the US has been fighting with Iraq for no reason valid enough to be justified?
Do you know that US is more biased than probably any country in the world? Go through these stats:
MURDER VICTIMS, 2002 VICTIM PER 100,000
Black male 100
White male 13
Black female 11
White female 3
This is what is happening in a country u think is providing u equality.!

Shame on you for living in the dark side n believing or rather trying to look for a "bright side" to the US n its wrong doings. Let me remind u sir, that the one n only thing that is bright in the US is money. THAT IS ALL.
India is not double faced. It is the US that is double faced. Do you know that US is the most powerful controller of the world organization United Nations, which is the reason despite hating the war going on between Iraq n US nobody was able to intervene on behalf of UN!
I think it is high time to remove the blind folds that US has set upon ur eyes and try to look at the world and ofcourse India. I am sure u'll find something worth seeing. There is an old saying in Hindi, "Paisa bolta hai" translated for Americans like you, who might even feel ashamed of reading Hindi, as "Money speaks". That is what is the problem for materialistic people like you.
And finally, I would like to say, that every nation has its own drawbacks. We do not have to criticize a nation for what it is not, rather try to improve it. And another thing, there are a bunch of successful Indians who are currently working at some of high jobs in very good companies of US ( Rajiv Gupta - GM of Hewlett Packard (hp), Sabeer Bhatia - founder and creator of Hotmail , Arun Netravalli - president of AT & T-Bell Labs etc.)
. And the difference between you n them is that they are the sons of India, who are proud to be Indians and India is proud to have sons like them, and not like you, who is ashamed coz his mother is a bit backwards in thought. I wonder whether that is what u wud be doing to ur parents, coz of the cold blood flowing in ur veins now!
And finally, "Don't ask what the country has given to you, ask what you have given to your country"...
Hope u understand that.
Good luck to you,
I feel extremely pathetic for u for not being able to understand ur own motherland...(if at all it is)..
