The national cricket selectors on Wednesday dropped Sourav Ganguly from the Indian squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka, throwing the deposed captain's career in the longer version of the game into jeopardy. Ganguly, who was earlier not only stripped of the captaincy but was also omitted from the one-day squad for the series against Sri Lanka and South Africa, finds himself in the cold yet again with the selectors recalling Mumbai opener Wasim Jaffer in the 15-member squad which otherwise remains unchanged. Gangully scored 39 and 40 in the two innigs of second test Is decesion correct? Add your comments by replying to this thread

Yes, you are very right, how can one forget those days when Sourav Ganguly made the Indian team reach the apex heights of world cricket.
He is the one under whom we won in NZ, Australia and South Africa, Pakistan...
who other person has managed to do that much for India...(HK_Ck)

hello this is pankaj , i think its a insult to such a great player , he is like sachin in bengal and the board had completely thrown out him becasue of their politics. the days are not good for india the cricket seems to less popular now a days because of these things and i am sure these will going to be affected in futuree

Hi it is ravi
It's look the effect of politics in the cricket in first sight. There are other player who did well in the match but they are in team and ganguly has been dropped when hi did wel in the match. Don't try to see his scores in both the innings 40 & 39, but try to see in which time its come, he played as part of the partnership which was important for india. In first inning over 100 runs partnership with sachin and in second inning 82 runs partnership with the yuvraj and that came that time when any further success would be the chance of returning in the match for the sri lanka.
There is another matter he was taken as bollowing all-rounder but he was not called for a single over. What's it look like.
One more thing, Let's see who replace the Ganguly, Wasim jafar, jafar is a opener batsman. If any middle order batsman replace the ganguly then there is no matter but a opener is replacing a middle order batsman.
I am agree chappel was a great batsman but he is rulling indian team like a hitler. this is not a good for the indian cricket in term of the long race.
So in first sight it is clear that it is result of the worst politics which is in the indian cricket, because a politician is rulling over the BCCI.

Ganguly shud play the third test...he shudn b replaced by Wasim.... This is totaly injustice with Ganguly.... i think rather thn Ganguly, Gambeer shud be dropped coz an opener can replace an opener only..
