India thrash Sri Lanka by 188 runs
Anil Kumble produced another memorable display of spin bowling at the Feroze Shah Kotla as India snubbed a late fightback by Sri Lanka to record a thumping 188-run win and take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the three-Test series on Wednesday. Kumble broke a defiant partnership between vice-captain Mahela Jayawardene (67) and Tillekaratne Dilshan (32) to return with four for 85 as the Lankans were dismissed for 247, about 45 minutes after lunch on the fifth and final day.

Captain Rahul Dravid appears to be a doubtful starter because of illness as India go into the third and final Test against Sri Lanka starting on Sunday hoping that the raging controversy over Sourav Ganguly's sacking will not serve as a distraction. Dravid was taken to a local hospital after being down with gastroenteris and a final decision on his availability will be taken later in the evening.
Middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif is likely to figure in the eleven if Dravid fails to recover

Indian spin twins Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh spun out Sri Lanka for 249 in their second innings to pilot the home team to a massive 259-run victory in the third and final cricket Test and a 2-0 triumph in the series on the final day at the Motera stadium on Thursday. Chasing a victory target of 509, the islanders resumed at 235 for six and the spin magicians made quick work of the remaining four batsmen in only half an hour and 7.3 overs. Kumble and Harbhajan had an equal share of the morning spoils.
Sri Lankan skipper Marvan Atapattu said his side had not done justice to its talent. "We had our chances in Delhi and here too, but Laxman and Pathan took the game away from us," Atapattu said, adding "it was always tough to play two good spinners on a helpful pitch."
Congratulations to team India India win series by 2-0
