IS IT JUSTIFIED TO IMPLIMENT RESERVATION OF 49.5 IN IIT AND IIM
The Mandal Commission formula of 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes in Central educational institutions and the IIMs and IITs is under the government's active consideration.
Although no decision has been taken on it yet, if the proposal is implemented is will take the overall reservation in central government-funded higher education institutions from the current 22.5% (for SC and ST students) to 49.5%.
The decision on this issue will be announced after the assembly polls in the five states.
Do you think IITs and IIMs should have 49.5% reservation? Will this help the backward classes prosper? Or will this lead to more controversy?

Reservation should be on the basis of economic criteria coupled with merit and not on the bsais of caste creed and color.

Reservations is no Solution for Upliftment ! If people have brains they can be sucessful in whatever they do! So merit should be the ONLY Criteria for Admission in IIMs,IIT's and Private Jobs Dont forget to Sign this too www.PetitionOnline.com/obcrev/

If proposal is passed total reservation will be around 49.5% which is very high .merit should be given precedence over reservation those who score more marks should be given admission .due to reservations in various educational institution general candidates r deprived of opportunities .
We don’t have reservation for the post of chief justice of India or prime minister of India why then should doctors engineers etc come out of quota system only .Due to this the best in general category would be able to secure a seat .with the no of seats for general candidate getting decreased in govt institution we have to depend on private institute and degree awarded by such institutes may not get a good job for us .for me the dream destination for MBA is IIM but now I have to look out for admission in a foreign institute even though it will cost a big amount I have to go for it to have a secure future .so we general students r at a loss by doing this the govt will make the society more unequal and will take our country backward .
I am totally totally against this quota system it should not exist as people would take advantage of this generation after generation

I belive in economic based reservation, give the poor money and facility of education but they should compete in the same manner .This will be beneficial for them also to compete in the outer market. Government is making OBC & sc st more week. For the upliftment of the country's socio economic condition Reservation should be banned in every sector. By giving Reservation they deprive the good students from getting the quality education who would have done much better than in any field than there reserved counter part.
